Fundraising/Workshop Programs

Whatever your specific needs may be, from promoting self-motivation to practice to finding educationally sound fundraising items, HMS Publications' workshops and fundraising programs hit a high note.  Use Dr. Harvey Snitkin's books Practicing for Young Musicians and Practice Planner as primary, companion or continuous fundraising items, or partner them with your choice of workshops for added value.

Fundraising Program

Your Profit Margin

  • You earn $6.00 on each copy of Practicing for Young Musicians sold.

  • You earn $5.20 on each copy of the Practice Planner sold.

Easy to Use

  • Student packets include envelope containing a four-color brochure and order form.  Extra packets are provided to parents and supporters.

  • After two weeks, order forms are collected, totaled and amount information phoned, mailed, or faxed to HMS Publications, Inc.

  • Payment is made 15 days after your order is delivered.

  • Initial orders get free delivery.  Books are delivered in cases.  Plastic bags are supplied for packaging individual orders.

$100 Bonus Offer

For every 300 books sold (no time limit), HMS Publications, Inc. will donate $100 to your organization.

Continue to earn and promote practicing - even after your initial order

  • Following your initial order, use both books as a continuous or companion fundraiser by selling them at concerts, events and more.

  • Additional orders earn the same profit margin and are included in your organization's total toward the bonus offer.  Add-on orders of 12 copies or more receive free shipping.

  • Repeat on an annual basis with each new beginning class of young musicians.  All sales count towards the $100 bonus offer.

Author's Workshop

At this workshop, using the lighthearted techniques found in Practicing for Young Musicians and the Practice Planner, students and parents will:

  • Discover what practicing is and why you must take responsibility for your own progress.

  • Understand why success happens between lessons, when you practice, and why between lessons you are your own teacher.

  • Explore how to develop self-motivation to practice, how to build a balanced technique and musicianship simultaneously, plan practice sessions, methods of practicing and practicing in the age of technology.

  • Enjoy learning how to gain your musical independence through sight-reading, and more!

Fundraising Workshop

This unique workshop utilizes Practicing for Young Musicians and the Practice Planner as both motivational and fundraising tools.  A fun and effective way to enrich your program and bolster your budget.

You provide the workshop location and sell $15 tickets (50 ticket minimum).  Your profit margin is $6.00 per ticket.

HMS Publications, Inc. provides the Author's Workshop, described above, gratis and sample news releases for your publicity committee.

Ticket price includes book and guest admission
Each ticket holder receives a complimentary copy of Practicing for Young Musicians ($14.95 cover price) as part of the ticket price.  One (1) adult accompanying a child to promote parental involvement gets free admission.

Sell books at and after the workshop
Earn an additional profit on each copy of Practicing for Young Musicians and the Practice Planner sold at the workshop.  If you find these books valuable to your program and wish to continue to make them available to your students, parents and supporters, the additional sales will be a continuous income to reach your program goals.

One-hour in-class workshop
$250.00 + .30 per mile travel

One-hour evening presentation
$275.00 + .30 per mile travel
